- Film 4 normally use young white characters in particular as most of their films show the type of struggles and problems the characters face within society and families. Here we have a young boy Oliver who is lost within his family and cannot seem to find himself. Also, he is paired with a young girl who has a similar background so are shown to be together.
- The places used in this trailer represent film 4's low budget locations for example, under a bridge, in a small house and in an average looking school building.
- As mentioned above, this film is about a boy who is isolated within his family and wants to find himself as a person and achieve in life. His sidekick in the film faces the same struggle so they understand each other well and help each other along the way.
Four Lions Trailer:
- This film does not seem to fit the pattern as well as the others as it targets more towards a Muslim audience in Britain. All the characters used here are young Muslim men which it what makes this film target the audience that it does.
- The film includes shots in run down areas of northern England as well as Pakistan as it shows the lifestyle of both audiences that it is trying to represent.
- The trailer includes such things as British shops, a few odd characters and road signs like 'Heathrow' which are in England and the audience can familiarise themselves with.
- This is typically a film 4 storyline as it includes violence, foul language and mockery of serious key concepts which in other countries like America or Iran, would be seen as racist and would be severely offended.
